* Blood splatters, falling snowflakes, butterflies * Mesh fixes from the Unofficial Oblivion Patch are included. * Landscape color maps and normal maps edited at the mipmap level to reduce the tiling effect in the distance. * Advanced normal map techniques used to make landscape textures seem very 3D. * Textures which use the parallax shader have been altered at the mipmap level so that things look very 3D from a distance but do not get the soupy artifacts associated with the parallax effect when viewed close-up. This removes unwanted artifacts parallaxing can cause around corners. * Only parts of the mesh which NEED parallaxing have the parallax flag enabled. * A large number of meshes have been altered to take advantage of the game engine's parallax shader. This makes things seem much clearer and sharper in-game. * Most textures are 4 times the size of the originals. Now after having the file upload all night, here it is! I've gotten more than a few requests for this mod to be uploaded, so I went and got permission from Qarl himself, to host the file.
Also, there are a few textures I wasn't happy with which I've changed (Mostly to make closer to the originals).There's a patch available for this mod, here. I've gotten quite a bit better at normal maps than when I release the last pack. Q: Will you be redoing any of the textures from Qarl's Texture Pack 2?Ī: Yes. If it's not in the list below, assume that the textures will be replaced.
So, it will actually be easier to state what textures this mod will NOT replace than what it will. Q: What exactly isn't going to retexture?Ī: This will be basically a WORLD texture replacer. It's going to make the download bigger, but I thought it would be less confusing to just release this as a whole pack. Q: What will this mod include all of Qarl's Texture Pack 2?Ī: Yep. It also goes without saying that a lot of RAM in your system will help. Right now, I'm working on the 512MB version (I always do the most extreme version first) and I can say it's really starting to make my GeForce 6800GT 256MB card chug.
